#SHOWBIZ: ‘I will not reject it’: Adi Putra ready for future political role
PUTRAJAYA: Actor Datuk Adi Putra has revealed that he is open to entering the national political arena full-time in the future if it is meant to be.
The 45-year-old artiste, whose real name is Mohamed Hadi Putera Halim, said that his involvement in politics is nothing new, and he is leaving any prospects of becoming an elected representative (Yang Berhormat) entirely to destiny.
“I have been involved in politics for quite some time, but becoming an elected representative was never my initial intention,” Adi Putra said when met by reporters recently.
“However, if that is the destiny laid out for me, I will proceed and will not reject it. I have always had a deep interest in the political world. My manifesto focuses on how we can foster unity among our diverse, multi-ethnic society.”
According to the Mat Kilau star, if given the opportunity, he would focus on long-term planning for national stability.
He emphasised that economic stability remains the primary pillar of the public’s well-being.
“For this year, 2026, politics should be a mature arena rather than a platform for sowing discord. We should only want to resolve conflicts, not fuel them,” he told Harian Metro.
In the meantime, Adi Putra urged the public to exercise wisdom when making crucial decisions for the country’s future.
“My vote and my choice are no different from yours. Your hand, your choice. We just need to ensure that our decisions are weighed with long-term vision, rather than short-sighted thinking,” he said.
