#SHOWBIZ: VIP predators: How actress Anzalna Nasir shielded herself from entertainment’s dark side

KUALA LUMPUR: Following the recent revelations by several female celebrities regarding harassment by high-profile VIPs, actress Anzalna Nasir has come forward to admit that such unsettling encounters are a well-known reality in the entertainment industry.

The 38-year-old actress noted that striking looks and a good physique frequently attract unwanted attention, making actresses prime targets for predatory men.

“As long as the body is attractive, there will definitely be VIPs or married men trying to approach us,” Anzalna shared on Threads.

She explained that ensuring she was never single during her active years in show business served as a deliberate shield against sexual harassment, adding, “Throughout my career as an actress, I chose to have a partner so that people wouldn’t dare to bother me. I will bring my husband wherever I go for safety.”

Anzalna’s candid revelation sparked widespread discussion among netizens, shedding light on the darker side of the glitzy entertainment world.

One social media user commented, “It’s true, not just celebrities, ordinary people can also experience this if they’re not careful,” while another praised her openness, saying, “Bravo Anzalna! This will make new actresses more aware of the ‘predators’.”

This discussion follows earlier shocking claims by fellow actress Zara Zya, who revealed she was approached by a wealthy VIP who wanted her to join him at a karaoke lounge.

Zara also recalled a separate incident where a producer subtly demanded that she strip down under the guise of an audition opportunity.

Thinking on her feet, Zara fabricated an excuse and promptly made a swift exit from the situation.
